The successful candidate will lead on delivering a patient focused service to medical patients with an emphasis on supporting acute medicine and emergency care specialities. The first year of this post will be focused on developing and piloting a new clinical pharmacy service into the Emergency Department.
Key to this will be developing the role of the pharmacist prescriber, looking at innovative ways to improve medicines optimisation for our acute and emergency patients. The postholder will be an integral part of the acute medicine and emergency care team, working alongside pharmacy colleagues and clinicians to lead on the provision of pharmacy support.
This post is based at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital although there is an expectation that the post holder would work closely with colleagues at all sites to support continuing patient care.
