EBU Global Off Highway Senior Finance Analyst (6 Month Maternity Cover)
Job Description
We are looking for a talented EBU Global Off Highway Senior Finance Analyst to join our team specializing in Finance for our Global EBU Finance Team in Darlington, United Kingdom.
This role is a 6-month maternity cover position and is also open to Internal Secondments.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Maintain Financial Integrity: By performing highly specialized accounting work and maintaining the department's general ledger, you ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial records.
* Detailed Financial Analysis: Your analysis of the department's chart of accounts and financial statements will help identify and address unusual variances, providing valuable insights for decision-making.
* Timely Reporting: By analyzing, recording, and reporting accounting transactions promptly, you will support the timely preparation of financial statements and reports, aiding in effective financial management.
* Internal Controls: Regularly reviewing and developing internal controls will help safeguard the organization's assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
* Strategic Support: Collaborating with the LOB Finance Director and leadership team on strategic issues will contribute to the development and execution of business strategies.
* Cross-Regional Collaboration: Working closely with regional finance teams in Europe and the US will enhance the alignment and effectiveness of financial operations across key markets.
* Financial Modelling and Analysis: Developing and presenting financial models and analyses will support strategic business decisions, such as pricing strategies and gross margin improvement projects.
* Process Improvement: Managing and improving processes for system inputs and outputs will streamline operations and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Strong Accounting and Financial Knowledge: A solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting and transactions.
* Analytical and Reporting Skills: Experience in financial reporting, analysis, planning, and forecasting to provide valuable insights and support strategic decision-making. Ability to prepare and present financial information effectively.
* Business Partnering and Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including finance directors and regional teams, to drive business performance and align financial strategies with organizational goals.
* Internal Controls and Regulatory Acumen: Expertise in leveraging internal control frameworks to mitigate financial reporting risks and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, such as tax, banking, and local accounting standards.
Qualifications
Education/ Experience:
* College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred.
* Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.
* Experience in ad hoc reporting.
* Ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
* Strong communication and collaborative skills.
* Skills in optimizing processes and managing complex, high-volume information.
