Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Trainee Machinist within the Machine Shop department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry. This Trainee Machinist position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role the main purpose of this position is to assist the machine shop for carrying out work required. Role Responsibilities will include: Operate a Variety of Machines to perform assigned tasks, you will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment (CNC) and accurate measuring instruments. Other associated duties: Read and Review paperwork, drawings and Instructions to understand specifications of output. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job. Take accurate measurements using micrometres, Vernier callipers, height gauges etc. Set up, operate and maintain machine tools. Monitor machine while working to adjust the speeds and feeds and make set up changes if necessary. Perform routine machine coolant checks, maintenance and tooling checks. Operate overhead crane Skills and Experience required: Minimum GCSE level or equivalent. Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English. Qualification in an engineering subject would be desirable. Illustrate previous knowledge and experience in Machine Shop/ Engineering Facility. Good awareness and understanding of PPE. Previous experience with CNC or manual Machine Tools desirable, but not essential. Good communicator- ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that affect the business. Good planning, organisation and administration skills, PC literate. Able to maintain performance under pressure. Ability to make decisions.Why Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services?
