Capetown & Canterbury wards where this role will be based, offer short stay Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation, for adults within an MDT setting at the Chase farm hospital site. You will work alongside a Band 7 Physiotherapy team lead, managing rehabilitation OT service, in order to achieve the best outcomes for your patients, adhering to National and local standards. This role is ideal for experienced Band 6 OTs with advanced clinical skills wishing to develop further into a senior position or for existing Band 7s looking for a new challenge. The role has supervision and staff management responsibility and your development will be supported by a team of band 7 peers and the Integrated Therapies Lead. You will be involved in developing the OT services working with OTs, Physiotherapists, Therapy support workers, Medical, Nursing and Health care staff. The trust's training and development pathway includes a yearly appraisal and supervision. The post holder will have experience of working within the specialist area of complex inpatient rehabilitation, including working with patients with progressive and non-progressive conditions (orthopaedic, respiratory, medical and surgical). The post holder will work as an autonomous Occupational Therapist, responsible for the management, planning, implementation and direction of the OT Team which consists of a Band 6, Band 5 and Band 4 staff to ensure the provision of an exceptional standard of Occupational Therapy service, in conjunction with the multi-professional team, to meet the needs of the inpatients on the ward.
