Mind of the Student is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Programme Facilitator to deliver and oversee our EmpowerU Programme, supporting young people aged 11–13 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Basildon, Essex. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional with extensive experience working with young people and a strong background in teaching, therapy, or mental health support.
We are looking for a confident leader who can facilitate engaging sessions, supervise a team, and ensure high-quality programme delivery. A postgraduate qualification and professional registration are essential for this role.
About EmpowerU
EmpowerU is a six-week programme designed to equip young people with practical mental health strategies, fostering emotional resilience and peer support in a safe and engaging environment. Each weekly session consists of two hours of group facilitation and two additional hours for planning and clinical time, totaling four hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and facilitate weekly group sessions, ensuring high-quality, engaging delivery
* Provide evidence-based mental health support tailored to young people's needs
* Supervise and mentor facilitators within the programme
* Uphold safeguarding protocols and best practices at all times
* Collaborate with the Mind of the Student team to refine and enhance programme delivery
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with experience leading programmes and teams, particularly those from backgrounds such as:
* Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP)
* Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP)
* CBT-qualified therapist
* Teaching or pastoral leadership
* Extensive experience in youth mental health or educational settings
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience leading youth-focused programmes or teams
* Strong background in mental health, education, or youth work
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Education, Mental Health, or Therapy)
* Ability to deliver low-intensity, evidence-based interventions for young people
* Confidence in engaging and supporting secondary school-aged students
* Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
