An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Health, Safety and Wellbeing department at Newport City Council. The team is currently expanding to ensure robust compliance and a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation. We are seeking to recruit two Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officers to support us in delivering effective health and safety services throughout Newport City Council’s schools. The Officers will have a portfolio of schools to oversee and lead upon whilst being supported by our team of health and safety professionals. The role is varied, and you will work collaboratively with leaders and managers across the council to ensure that safety improvements are driven forward in a positive and supportive manner. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who is passionate about making a difference. Ideally you will have knowledge of the application of health and safety requirements, processes and systems within organisations, although full training and support will be provided. You must be confident in working independently and have excellent communication skills to enable us to drive forward and enhance our health and safety culture. In return Newport City Council offer a range of benefits such as flexible working, a generous annual leave entitlement (in addition to statutory bank holidays), employer pension contributions, a range of employee benefits / discounts, personal development and training throughout your career. This is a permanent full-time post. Please note that the role requires hybrid working and regular travel to different sites throughout Newport.
