Job summary
Firsway is a large practice with circa 15,400 patients based in Sale, Cheshire.
We are looking to recruit a new GP for 6 sessions per week to join our large, friendly team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for 6 sessions per week which includes sharing our weekly care home ward rounds with another GP. Weare currently operating contact with patients digitally via an online systemcalled AccuRx Patient Triage. Your session will consist of patient contacts,administration/referrals and any home visits as well as the processing of testresults, patient letters and prescription requests.
All GPs undertakeextended hours provision on a pro rata, rota basis as well as a share of theduty GP role each day which involves an admin session in the morning and thenon on-call session in the afternoon.
About us
We are a partnership of 6 with a further 9 Salaried GPs, a nursing team of 5, an experienced Medicines Management Team and a practice support team of patient co-ordinators, administrators and a strong management team. We are research active and are also a training practice for undergraduate medical students, foundation year 2 doctors and GP registrars. In addition, we offer placements for other clinicians in trainingincluding student nurses and physicians associates.
Despite being a large practice, we all know and care about each other and work well as a team. We have a strong patient focus and offer a supportive work environment.

Job responsibilities
Sessions
The post holderwill be responsible for sessions as set out in their Statement of Main Terms ofEmployment 6 sessions per week are available. Each session will be for 4 hours 10 mins.
Workload
The post-holderwill be expected to undertake a share of the practice workload includingprocessing results, patient letters and prescription requests as well as theirown clinical workload and share weekly ward round for care home with another GP.
Surgeries
We arecurrently operating contact with patients digitally via an online system calledAccurx. Your session will consist ofpatient contacts, administration/referrals and any home visits.
Appraisal
It is expectedthat the post holder will co-operate with any nationally run appraisal system.
Extended Hours
It is expectedthat the post holder will undertake extended hours provision on a pro rata,rota basis.
Trainee Doctor/Medical Student Supervision
You may beinvited to supervise ST1/2/3 and Foundation Year 2 doctors and medical studentsin the absence of the allocated trainers.
Terms and Conditions
The majority ofthese will be set out in your contract. The salary will have been outlined inthe offer of post. Both the salary and terms and conditions will be reviewedannually. Annual leave entitlement will be 6 weeks on a pro rata basis.
Team Meetings
Firsway HealthCentre holds regular clinical meetings. Thepost holder will be expected to participate in these as well as, primary healthcare meetings and any relevant governance or critical event meetings. There is also a daily 10 minute coffee break/clinicaldebrief built into morning surgery when you will have the opportunity to unwindand share information amongst the clinical team.
