Job Title: Fire and Security Engineer
Location: Birmingham and Surrounding Areas
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience and how well you navigate Birmingham's infamous road system)
Our client, a trusted fire and security company in Birmingham, is looking for a Fire and Security Engineer to join their growing team. If you're the kind of person who can handle faulty alarms, tricky wiring, and the occasional confused customer-all while staying calm-this might be for you.
What You'll Be Doing (No, It's Not Just Changing Batteries):
Install, Maintain & Commission: Fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.
Diagnose & Repair: Pinpoint faults and fix them-ideally before anyone panics.
Customer Support: Explaining what went wrong and how you fixed it in plain English (because "technical jargon" isn't everyone's first language).
Compliance: Keeping everything above board and within regulations-because shortcuts never end well.
What We're Looking For (Beyond a Working Knowledge of Tools):
Experience: You've been working with fire and security systems long enough to know the difference between a real issue and a loose cable.
Technical Skills: You can handle installations, repairs, and fault-finding with confidence.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Staying calm under pressure isn't just a bonus-it's essential.
Full Driving Licence: Because getting to site on foot isn't practical.
What's in It for You (Besides the Pay):
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Van + Tools: Provided, so you're not carrying ladders on the bus.
Paid Travel: You'll still be in traffic, but at least you'll get paid for it.
Performance Bonuses: Do well, get rewarded-simple.
20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays: We all need a break now and then.
Career Progression: Prove yourself, and there's room to grow.
Qualifications:
Relevant fire and security qualifications.
CSCS/ECS card preferred-but not a deal-breaker.
FIA Units 1 & 5? Bonus points if you have them
Full UK Driving Licence
