We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable practitioner with experience in the field of secondary school inclusion to work in our internal alternative provision called ‘ARK’.
ARK is our KS3 internal alternative provision which supports students who are most at risk of permanent exclusion. All curriculum subjects are taught and SEND assessments and referrals made, as appropriate. Through knowing and nurturing the students in this small group provision, and by providing opportunities to work closely with parents/ carers and external agencies, students will feel inspired to return to their mainstream lessons, whilst having the strategies taught to maintain Bishops’ expected standards and ultimately be the best version of themselves.

Students in ARK have access to all curriculum subjects, content is delivered by a mix of specialist teachers and the Learning Inclusion Officer. ARK goes beyond the national curriculum, featuring outdoor education, animal care and gardening. Students also have access to resources/programmes which support them in being successful in transitioning back into mainstream lessons i.e. social skills, achieve and guidance from our chaplain.
The successful candidate must enjoy working with students with SEND needs, and enjoy teamworking to meet the needs of the students. You must be flexible and positive. ARK was established on nurture principles, and the usual class ratio is up to 1 adult to 8 students.

The Bishops' Blue Coat Church of England High School is a co-educational secondary school with sixth form in Great Boughton, Chester. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,112 students on the school roll, including 153 in the sixth form.
