PURCHASER
Our client is seeking an experienced Purchaser on a PAYE contract basis in Aberdeen. The contract is initially until 31 December 2025. A hybrid working arrangement is in place.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Purchase in a sound and ethical manner in accordance with requirements and company's CMS.
2. Prepare and issue enquiries to suppliers and verify that purchase requisitions are complete.
3. Review and analyse supplier quotations in conjunction with internal asset-team stakeholders.
4. Organize and chair pre-and post-award clarification meetings with suppliers.
5. Prepare bid evaluation, negotiate pricing, lead times and recommend best commercial options.
6. Perform desk expediting activities as required.
7. Prepare and issue a weekly status report showing the status of all purchase transactions.
8. Coordinate visits of Suppliers to site locations for installation, commissioning, repair, support and warranty activities.
9. Review and verify invoices in a timely and accurate manner in conjunction with the assigned invoice administrator.
10. Administrate Purchase Orders and related correspondence correctly.
11. Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
12. Manage conflicts and default situations with Suppliers in close conjunction with asset stakeholders and Section Head Procurement as appropriate.
13. Interface and align with other sections and departments with reference to scope definition, regulatory compliance, certification, transport & logistics.
14. Ensure final close out of orders including the performance evaluation of suppliers.
Experience Required:
1. Demonstrable commercial and purchasing experience in a similar position within oil and gas operations.
2. Sound knowledge of procurement processes, INCOTERMS and HMRC Import & Export Customs regulations.
3. Basic knowledge and experience with English Law, negotiation of PO terms & conditions, common EU and UK Equipment Directives, international standards (ISO) and their related certifications.
4. Good business-based communication skills.
5. Maximo experience desirable.
6. Good working knowledge of MS Office packages.
