KEY DUTIES The post holder will work as a member of the Learning and Organisational Development team to: Organisational Development Provide senior OD, internal communications and staff engagement management and support, contributing to related strategy development, and with responsibility for operational planning and delivery. Support the organisational focus on readiness for change in individuals, teams and the Trust, in response to the integration agenda as outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan. Lead and co-facilitate other learning and development programmes managed by Learning and Organisational Development Team, jointly planning and delivering any agreed programmes. Work as an active member of the Learning and Organisational Development Team in a collaborative and supportive way to deliver the service objectives, taking appropriate responsibility for putting into operation delegated strands of the service. Develop and implement strategies and plans for specific programmes/projects, managing a number of different projects at the same time, ensuring they support the overall Trust objectives, which may require the post holder to travel between sites and to other locations as required. Independently manage medium risk consultancy projects e.g. service reviews, complex teamwork, ensuring that the work is delivered within agreed financial and human resources, meeting all governance requirements. Provide written reports to the Workforce Council, Assistant Director teams and staff-side committees throughout the organisation in relation to relevant OD activities. Support the Head of Learning and OD, the staff engagement group and other relevant parties to ensure the development and agreement of a current, relevant OD strategy. Develop and implement OD action plans and training, as required, monitoring them against agreed objectives and outcome measures. Staff Experience Develop, lead, monitor and report on the delivery of the staff engagement plan. Ensure effective engagement with staff throughout the organisation (including making sure that action is taken in response to what they say) through a variety of channels and methods. Develop and implement new ways to involve and engage staff and improve overall staff satisfaction with how they are involved in decision-making. Lead on the organisation and administration of surveys (including the annual national NHS staff survey and smaller local pulse surveys) to seek staff views, with the subsequent development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate action plans. Lead the delivery of the staff engagement and survey action plans, leading on specific agreed areas of work within the following areas covered by the Learning and OD service: Learning and development, including appraisal and objective setting, training plans and learning seminars. Leadership development, including leadership programmes, talent management and competency framework. Lead the running of an active staff engagement group, which helps shape the organisations response to matters of interest to staff. Support staff health and wellbeing activities (with appropriate colleagues) identified through engagement activity. Provide staff engagement advice and support to managers. In partnership with the Media and Communications Team develop and implement high quality internal communications as part of the staff engagement action plan. Support the ongoing development of the staff intranet (informed by staff feedback) to promote better staff engagement and involvement. Support organisational change initiatives, especially in relation to staff consultation and engagement as required. Represent the Trust in staff engagement and OD matters, as required, at local, regional, and national level within and outside the NHS. Lead on developing solutions from the NHS Staff Survey and Friends and Family Test and work collaboratively with clients to support the development and implementation of staff engagement plans. .
