An exciting opportunity has arisen for a friendly and enthusiastic candidate to lead our reception team across our 3 branches.
The successful candidate will ideally need to have experience within the veterinary profession or a similar customer care role with a passion for animals and excellent customer service skills as well as computer literacy and being able to cope well under pressure, with previous experience in a leadership role. They will be required to support the Practice Director in the management of the practice and development of the business, promoting improvements and being an active member of the management team as well as manage, develop and lead the members of the reception team to ensure excellent teamwork, delivering a high standard of client care.
This is a busy and demanding role in which you will be required to work alongside your team, welcoming our clients and their pets to the surgery, dealing with enquiries both on the telephone and face-to-face, taking payments, using and updating our electronic diary system, handling medication, and carrying out varied admin tasks, including team rotas, debt control, and management of our Pet Health scheme.

Located in the scenic Garden of England in Ashford, Kent, Barrow Hill Veterinary Hospital is a purpose-built facility. We have a supportive and collaborative team and multiple visiting specialists. This is a multi-site role, so you will be working mainly in our Ashford branch but also in Hythe and New Romney. A driving licence and car are essential.
Your shift pattern
Our full-time position is for 40 hours per week. Hours will be 9 am-6 pm Monday - Friday, but may range between 8 am and 8 pm, depending on demand. We also require flexibility to cover other days for holiday and sickness cover, including some Saturdays.
