Our client is a Tier One main contractor based in Newcastle working in a range of sectors including Education, Leisure, Multiroom High Rise, Housing and Facility Maintenance. They are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their established team based on projects in and around Newcastle, Gateshead, and Sunderland. With a strong reputation in the Northeast and a good pipeline of work, this is an excellent time to join the team.
What you will be doing:
Preparing bills of quantities and schedules of works for pricing.
Preparing and sending out of Sub-contract inquiries.
Attending, and contributing to, client and subcontractor meetings as required.
Preparing Valuations with Client, agreeing amounts for payment, and ensuring invoices are prepared and issued.
Re-measuring work using site measurement and measurement from drawings.
Re-measurement of subcontract applications and processing subcontract payments.
Informing Sub-Contractors of Contract Variations.
Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts.
Provide advice and support to site teams and colleagues.
Qualifications:
Managing ongoing costs of live projects through to completion.
Producing and sending inquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engage with the supply chain.
Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes.
Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts.
Attend and contribute to financial and progress meetings with the client and subcontractors when required.
Provide advice and support to site teams and colleagues.
What do we need from you?
Ability to use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages.
Excellent communication skills, both oral & written.
Negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally and externally.
Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in health care.
Willingness to work on your own initiative and progress your career.
Experience of JCT and NEC contracts ideal.
HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying.
CSCS card.
