What the Job Involves As a Residential Childcare Officer or Waking Night Officer, you will work shifts on a rota across children's homes in Cardiff. Your role involves providing direct care, ensuring children receive personalized support, building relationships, and supporting their development. You must be alert during waking night shifts, monitor the needs of young people, and effectively communicate with out-of-hours services. You'll partake in handovers and carry out tasks as needed, all while ensuring a nurturing environment.
