About the role:
The Bedford College Group are currently seeking a Business Development Executive to join our Business Development Department at Central Bedfordshire College - Leighton Buzzard / Dunstable Campus.
As a Business Development Executive, you will play a key role through:
* Working with employers regionally located within the campus radius, providing timely information as required and delivering briefings and presentations on all the benefits of working with The Bedford College Group.
* Ensuring that employer end to end training and recruitment needs are met, and maintaining a high quality approach for all employer engagement practices.
* Presenting prepared proposals to employers and agreeing any costs and the training outcomes to be delivered by the college through the issuing of contracts or service level agreements.
* Acting as negotiator on agreeing a fee for any training under consideration, using discretion within an agreed costing model.
* Liaising with relevant college staff to communicate the employers' identified business needs to be delivered within the training proposals.
* Discussing labour market trends with employers, making use of reports that are prepared and data sourced directly from EMSI or other sources.
* Identifying and securing business from future and existing employers and effectively managing the customer relationships to maximise future business.
* Providing an effective end to end customer management service, ensuring that regular communication for ongoing repeat business is achieved offering a single point of contact into the college.
* Engaging with curriculum teams to ensure work placement requirements are encouraged, as and when opportunities are presented.
* Meeting with assigned employers to complete an organisational and training needs analysis and then match our employer products/services to the identified needs of the employer.
* Supporting marketing activities for employer engagement including attendance at events, development of promotional materials in liaison with Marketing and organisation of employer related activities.
* Undertaking direct promotional activities to employers through all communications routes including visits, cold calling, attending networking events, social media and telesales.
About you:
Ideal candidates will have:
* Level 2 or higher, preferably in a sales, customer service, business support or marketing discipline, or the willingness to study at this level.
* Level 4 IAG, or similar.
* Level 2 in Mathematics and English at grade C/4 above, or Level 2 in functional skills Maths and English, or willing to complete once in post.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Experience of meeting deadlines.
* Experience of monitoring and recording data and taking appropriate actions.
* Keeping up to date with developments in subject specialism and sharing expertise with colleagues.
* Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs.
* Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role.
* Ability to effectively research, develop and implement new learning materials to engage students in learning.
* Ability to extend students' learning experience by developing and implementing appropriate vocational opportunities.
* Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns.
* Willingness to travel to and work at all locations where we provide a service.
