They will be required to work closely and pro-actively with the other stakeholders at all levels and across all the teams within the programme to ensure that the requirements of all the individual estimating and cost planning activities, and their impact upon the overall Project, are successfully delivered. You’ll be responsible for: Managing the contract to ensure compliance both by the client and all associated contractors. An understanding of preparing estimates and cost planning for high value public sector business case approval. Experience of preparing highly technical cost advice for services and works that are subject to the highest level of security and safety requirements. An ability to use the latest digital tools and platforms that are industry recognised for the purposes of preparing and reporting cost advice. Proficient in the use of advanced excel spreadsheets. Experience and capability to generate cost information to support option appraisals and recommendations. Experience and capability to provide cost advise for the inclusion in a priced risk and opportunity register. Experience and ability to apply costs into a cost loaded programme within a work and cost structure. Demonstrate an understanding of cost planning work packages and an understanding of how the structure of the construction industry is reflected in the composition of cost plan structures. Familiarity with most common forms of contract, especially NEC, within the construction industry and major projects and programme environment. Demonstrate an ability to interface with other team disciplines to include amongst others project management, project controls, assurance, risk. Good commercial skills and ability to make sound decisions on matters to ensure that value for money is obtained and can be demonstrated. Good negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels. Ability to constructively and effectively comment upon current processes and procedures that would be of benefit to the programme. Be a strong team player but also able to work autonomously whilst involving all stakeholders in the decision-making process. Develop the relationship and future work opportunities with the client. Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and products and hence improve the service provided to clients. Act as a Line Manager in accordance with all Mace business requirements. Manage compliance with all aspects of the current client contract. Lead the preparation of estimating and cost planning duties and able to present the same to the PP team and to the client. Incorporating appropriate financial data in the programme to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team. Producing and maintaining project baselines and execute the pre-construction change control process as appropriate. Developing and maintaining of project assumptions/exclusions and dependencies logs. PP services are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time. PP service delivery is in line with the conditions of appointment. Timely execution of business management responsibilities including completion of daily timesheet. Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Mace internal database. The identification of and participation in new initiatives that add value and improve the business. You’ll need to have: Appropriate commercial qualifications suitable to undertake the role. Good experience of NEC contracting and CEMAR.
