This role exists to help maintain the gardens of Capernwray Hall, working with the Gardening Coordinator to help plan the seasonal work calendar and coordinate student work groups.
Contract type:
* Zero-hours Contract (£12 / hour).
* Usual working week would include 15-22.5 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* To work with the Gardens Coordinator to effectively and efficiently maintain the gardens and lawns around the site.
* To help plan and undertake the seasonal work calendar required to maintain the hall’s gardens to a high standard, in keeping with the listed gardens and grade 2 listed hall.
* To help lead the student work groups on Bible School Work Days – working with and guiding students.
* To work with the Gardens Coordinator to ensure that the gardens and grounds remain safe for students and guests.
* To support the Estates Manager in project work around the wider estate when additional help is required.
* To ensure health and safety standards are observed in all gardens and estates work.
* Effectively utilise seedlings & plants around the site to ensure expenditure on the gardens and grounds are kept within budget.

Key Responsibilities common for all Capernwray staff:
* To participate fully and warmly in Capernwray’s community life, including participation in holiday programmes, leading student ‘family groups’, attendance at staff meetings, prayer meetings and social events, and to assist in other elements of the ministry.
* To identify and source opportunities and resources for continuing personal and professional development, in consultation with the Gardens Coordinator.
