Experience or training in mental health and wellbeing practices The Role Medical Centre Management • Maintain the efficient operation of the medical centre, ensuring high-quality first aid practices and compliance with clinical governance, DfE, and UKHSA guidelines.
• Oversee the administration of medications and ensure all policies, records, and practices align with regulatory standards, including GDPR and ISI compliance.
• Provide professional first aid support for pupils, staff, and visitors, delegating where necessary.
• Collaborate with catering and other departments to address dietary and allergy needs.
Clinical Practice • Work within the NMC Code of Conduct and maintain clinical supervision requirements for revalidation.
• Develop and manage health care plans in collaboration with pupils, parents, and healthcare specialists.
• Ensure accurate medical records are maintained for all pupils, including intake forms and updates for leavers.
Mental Health and Wellbeing • Collaborate with the school’s mental health lead (or assume the role, depending on experience) to implement and support the school’s mental health and wellbeing strategy.
• Assist in delivering early intervention and prevention strategies for mental health and wellbeing, providing timely support for pupils and staff.
• Act as a point of contact for mental health and wellbeing matters, liaising with pupils, parents, and external services as appropriate.
• Support wellbeing initiatives, including pupil and staff wellbeing surveys, and contribute to the development of an action plan based on feedback.
• Where applicable, work with local schools and services to enhance the mental health provision within the school community.
