LSA role in a specialist provision for teenagers aged 14-19 who have experienced significant trauma, social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
A real focus on holistic and restorative practices, creating empathy whenever possible. The school prioritizes non-punitive measures, using manual handling training only when absolutely necessary.
A practical trial day will take place in school to ensure the role is suitable for you. This is dependent on your availability to start ASAP or if you have a notice period and are looking for a January start.

Your responsibilities will include:
1. Ensuring the safety of children.
2. Receiving extensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA Training.
3. Working with secondary-aged students (14-19) with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying social anxieties.
4. Engaging in physical work while being pragmatic to maximize academic progress based on each child's context.
5. Supporting students with anti-social behavior, as this is part of aiding society's most vulnerable children. All training and support will be provided by the school.
6. Implementing various therapies and holistic processes, recognizing that even small progress is a success.
7. Addressing diverse cognitive abilities among students.
8. Fostering positive engagement to give children a sense of acceptance, utilizing different approaches when traditional talking therapies may not be effective.
9. Providing students with objectives and encouraging independence, especially for those in assisted living.
