Description
Everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future. This simple idea has been at the heart of TechnoServe’s work around the world for over 50 years. TechnoServe is a pioneer in leveraging the power of business and markets to create sustainable pathways out of poverty.
The low-income communities in which we work are full of enterprising people. Their small-scale farms and businesses are the keys to economic development. But they face many challenges: low literacy, lack of access to jobs and markets, unpredictable political dynamics, and increasingly, the effects of climate change. For many women and young people, the challenges are even more daunting. Working with TechnoServe staff, people around the world are lifting themselves out of poverty. The results are amazing; when incomes increase and living conditions for families improve, they can access healthcare and education previously out of reach. Communities and even whole countries are better off.
Job Summary:
TechnoServe seeks a results-oriented professional to collaborate with the Chief of Party (COP) in the implementation and administration of a regional cashew program. The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will support the COP with overall management of program operations and ensure effective and timely project execution.

Over five years, Prosper Cashew will bring about transformational changes in the West African sector by improving processing capacity, enabling access to finance for processors, and building a marketing platform to attract global customers. The project expects to create more than 26,000 new jobs (at least 50% for women) and indirectly benefit over 133,000 women, men, and children in West Africa while increasing the share of raw cashew nuts processed in the region from less than 10% to 50%.
