Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Childrens Services About the team We are a dedicated team covering Welwyn and Hatfield, committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and families. The Welwyn-Hatfield area is highly demanding due to the complex needs of the children and their families. About the role The Team Manager plays a crucial role in supporting a fully staffed team to develop and perform at a high level and ensure that staff respond in a timely manner. This role will be focussed on motivating, inspiring and challenging your team. You will act as a role model for change and provide strong management skills to drive performance and exceed targets set by the service. The role requires you to analyse data to monitor your team's work, outcomes, and performance. You will also be responsible for budgets to ensure spend within the team is being prioritised. As a Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of social workers and support staff. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the assessment process for children and families, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Leadership: Provide effective and visible leadership, motivating and empowering staff. Assessment: Oversee the assessment of children's needs, risk, and family circumstances. Supervision: Regularly supervise and appraise social workers to ensure effective service delivery. Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, agencies, and partners to achieve positive outcomes. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements. About you Essential : Qualified in Social Work and registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's services, including assessment work. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to react in a timely way in dealing with and processing safeguarding contacts. Previous leadership or supervisory experience. Driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
