MECHANICAL FITTER – ENVIRONMENT

What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Bristol area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work on our Wessex, Bath and Avon and Welsh Water Frameworks, delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes, delivering both Design and Build.
Reporting to the Works Manager, you will be working as part of a team to deliver works across Frameworks such as Wessex Water, Welsh Water and the Environment Agency. The works include a variety of tasks ranging from minor works and reactive maintenance to planned installation works of plant and equipment such as pumps, motors and pipework (Ductile, Carbon, PP) within the water industry.
We are looking for candidates that have a “can do” attitude and will work to find solutions. Many of our projects are in hard-to-reach places, so experience working in confined spaces would be beneficial. Works include but are not limited to:

* Fitting flow meters and instrumentation
* Carrying out pipe tapings
* Inspection and tests of sites for mechanical faults and degradation

About You:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be a proactive team player, demonstrating reliability, good time management and communication skills. Alongside your mechanical engineering qualification or apprenticeship or experience in a similar role, we’d like you to have your CSCS skills card and City & Guilds Confined Space Training. SSSTS, SMSTS, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene) and First Aid at Work training are desirable, and we will support you in covering any training needs.
We’re seeking somebody with extensive experience of using Power Tools who is able to follow Instructions & Processes with a good understanding of engineering drawings. You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes:
* Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture
* Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence, striving to deliver the best.
* Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
