YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
WSP are seeking Senior and Principal Civil Engineers with experience in Water, Drainage and Environmental Engineering for rivers and flood defence projects to expand the growth of our expertise and technical capability. We support clients and projects throughout the UK with a focus on the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and other flood defence organisations, providing designs from concept through to detailed designs.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for:
* delivery of a wide variety of civil engineering river and flood related schemes;
* preparing and supporting business cases for works to protect from flooding;
* developing outline and detailed designs for engineering flood projects including hydraulic systems, flood defences, drainage and ancillary structures etc;
* preparing work schedules and specifications for contractors;
* carrying out asset inspection works of above and below ground structures;
* working with local authorities and national environmentally based organisations.
At The Principal Grade You Will Also
* Lead client relationships and attend client progress meetings.
* Manage a team of engineers, supporting their technical development and ensuring they are resourced on projects.
We are looking for candidates at all grades and are open to location within the UK across our network of modern offices, although have specific vacancies in our Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and London offices.
WED LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and degree qualified (role dependant)
* Proven experience post degree in designing sustainable water management engineering designs such as river or flood defence works
* Knowledge and understanding of flood and river diversion design principles and solutions
* Experience in the use of Civil 3D
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Successful management of projects/programmes and teams to meet both quality and commercial targets.
