We are looking to recruit an Environmental Services Facilities Technician to monitor the receipt, inspection and validation of wastes brought to Council facilities for disposal or processing as outlined in the Service Plan and in accordance with Environmental Legislation, Health and Safety Legislation and Council Policies.
You will undertake weighbridge operations, maintaining and updating records, relating to manual and automated recording systems. You will ensure the monitoring and recording of the receipt, inspection and validation of all waste types brought to the site is provided. You will be required to prepare records and submit those on a regular basis via computer systems.
You will deputise for the Environmental Services Facilities Supervisor, as and when necessary.
You will also undertake operational duties as and when appropriate by being responsible individually or as part of a team, for the operation of a waste disposal site, landfill site or transfer station.
One year's experience in operating a Waste Disposal Site or equivalent operational experience is essential.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service., Disability Confident
