An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join the Respiratory Service at ELHT, primarily based within Pulmonary Rehab across East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.
The successful candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a problem-solving approach to their work. Flexibility to work across the pathways of care within clinical settings of the Respiratory Service is essential.
The Respiratory team works in a busy department currently operational over 5 days of the week, carrying out a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and investigations. We deliver high standards of care to all our patients and are looking for a keen and motivated person to work alongside our friendly, hardworking team.
The service is committed to training and developing staff within their role, and any required training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
* Provide competent assistance during a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and ensure support and reassurance to patients undergoing the same.
* Gain understanding and occasional participation in the decontamination processes of all endoscopic equipment and have awareness of general and specific infection control measures and related issues.
* Participate in moving & handling needs of patients.
* General cleaning of clinical areas and equipment in accordance with Infection Control Policies.
* Assist in maintenance of adequate stock levels.
* Work alongside the wider MDT.

Qualifications
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

* NVQ 3 in a care-related field or equivalent.

* Previous experience working within an acute healthcare setting.

* Proven ability to understand and comply with detailed procedures.
