Job Description:
The Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software.
2. Provides advice and recommendations to management on processes and techniques required for improved work operations.
3. Installs and configures systems and other software.
4. Tests installed software for malfunction detection.
5. Identifies and resolves business systems issues.
6. Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems.
7. Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems.
8. Develops and implements strategies to improve systems.
9. Monitors and tests system performance.
10. Oversees the training of junior engineers to improve job skills and work efficiency.
11. Typically has full ownership of a process.
12. May act as a procedural expert.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
1. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
2. Seven (7) years of experience.
Skills and Competencies
1. Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals to achieve a common objective.
2. Ability to conduct system analysis to detect issues with performance.
3. Ability to develop and implement technology solutions to resolve technical challenges.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and software debugging.
6. Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
7. Strong executional capabilities.
8. Thorough understanding of software structures, hardware, computing systems and how to integrate them.
9. Strong experience building Web applications with Rest APIs integration of Micro services in .NET Core/framework technologies.
10. Strong full stack developer with proven track record of getting things done.
11. Expert in two or more Integrated Development Environments and languages including C#, .Net core, Java scripting, Objective-C, Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.
12. Experience developing against common API technologies including REST and SOAP.
13. Experience with ASP.NET WebAPI and .Net Core.
14. Strong understanding of design patterns (MVVM, etc), dependency injection.
15. Strong understanding of object-oriented design and development.
16. Strong SQL experience and knowledge of entity framework.
17. Strong knowledge of Rest API life cycle.
18. Strong knowledge of react.js and responsive web design.
19. Experience with Mulesoft or other API integration platforms.
20. Understand and analyze system and SQL bottleneck, good troubleshoot skills.
21. Openshift deployments of API.
22. Experience with React.js framework development and development.
Good to have
1. Experience with containerized application development and knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
2. Experience with production support and work in team environment with multiple interfaces.
3. Experience with CI / CD, AWS deployments.
4. AWS S3, Cloudfront, ECS experience.
5. Experience with Harness, Bamboo and UCD.
6. Experience working with Agile methodologies.
7. Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD).
8. Vast knowledge of current trends in the common platform omnichannel architecture and technology.
