As a quality engineer you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the products meet their customer expectations and company standards. Ensuring quality standards are monitored and improvements made where appropriate, create documentation, devise quality tests, and define acceptance criteria. Location Chirton Engineering, North Shields, NE29 7SW Hours of Work & Pay & Benefits 5 day working week - Monday to Friday 42 hours per week early finish on a Friday. £37K per annum Up to 12 weeks company sick pay. On site gym Key responsibilities To monitor and review quality processes and play a key role in driving continuous improvement. To have supply chain oversight to ensure that materials / items meet specification, address any non-conformances. To review project documentation in accordance with client specified requirements and in line with the internal quality management system. To report and review non-conformances to carry out root-cause analysis and preventative actions. To ensure that quality standards are met and report any potential issues or areas of improvement. To work proactively within the quality department and share best practices and improvements. To utilise Quality Risk Management tools to identify any issues and come up with preventative measures or changes to procedure to solve problems. To maintain accurate quality documentation. To conduct internal and supply chain audits to ensure compliance to specifications & Standards. To liaise with inspection and production personnel to ensure on time deliveries through concurrent sign offs and maintaining of Lifetime Records. To manage the calibration system to ensure concurrency is maintained. To raising NCR’s relating to customer returns, supplier/subcontractor issues and internal issues. What you need for the role. Demonstrated experience of exposure to working within a machining background. Good analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis and devise suitable preventative actions. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards. How will you be rewarded? The company provides an industry leading compensation package.
