Job Title: CQC Programme Lead
Location: Hybrid - 2 days in the office (flexible depending on meetings)
Rate: Up to £500 per day (depending on experience)
Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled CQC Programme Lead to support the Assistant Director for Adult Safeguarding and Quality Assurance in ensuring the Adult Social Care Directorate is fully prepared for regulatory inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). As a CQC Programme Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing preparations for external assurance, developing a self-assessment report and an improvement plan, and ensuring compliance with CQC standards. This role requires strategic leadership, collaboration with senior stakeholders, and a strong understanding of CQC regulatory frameworks for local authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage CQC readiness preparations, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations.
2. Develop and submit a robust self-assessment report and oversee the creation of an improvement plan.
3. Manage and maintain the operational relationship with the Care Quality Commission.
4. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align operational and strategic practices with CQC standards.
5. Oversee the Practice and Quality programme to drive transformation and improvement.
6. Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, identifying and addressing gaps where necessary.
7. Lead change management initiatives that support regulatory compliance.
8. Provide expert guidance on regulatory frameworks, best practices, and quality assurance.
9. Line-manage and provide mentorship and leadership within the Quality Assurance and Practice Development Team.
10. Ensure clear, comprehensive, and accurate information is provided to support decision-making.
11. Work collaboratively with local authority leadership, regulatory bodies, and external partners.
Essential Skills & Experience:
1. Proven experience in leading CQC inspections and regulatory compliance within Adult Social Care.
2. Strong programme and project management skills, ideally with PRINCE2 or MSP Practitioner certification.
3. In-depth knowledge of the CQC regulatory framework for local authorities.
4. Experience in developing and implementing self-assessments and improvement plans.
5. Exceptional stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence at a senior level.
6. Experience in change management and transformation programmes.
7. Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
9. Political awareness and the ability to provide strategic briefings to senior leaders and stakeholders.
