Job Overview
The CAMHS Young Peoples Team is a specialist mental health service for young people aged up to 18 years old. We provide a service for young people who are adopted, living in care (looked after children), homeless, unaccompanied asylum seeking, and those involved with youth justice services.
Within our team, we provide comprehensive mental health assessment, treatment, and diagnosis for those who present with a moderate to severe mental illness.
We welcome new members to our existing multi-disciplinary team (MDT) where we share clinical decision-making and formulation for the young people and care networks we work with. Our MDT consists of Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Therapeutic Social Workers, Mental Health Practitioners, Mental Health Nurses, Learning Disability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Forensic Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, and our Administration Team.
We are hoping to attract a keen mental health nurse or mental health practitioner (band 6) to join our team and enhance our offer to vulnerable children. We are looking for someone who has existing experience working with young people and who has exceptional skills around mental health assessment, care planning, risk assessment, and management.
Within the team, we can offer support to further develop skills in therapeutic models of care.
