These replacement posts are offered on a full time (10 PA) basis although less than full time applications will be considered. Duties will be based primarily on our Pinderfields hospital site in Wakefield although all our medical staff are involved in delivering care to patients on all our 3 hospital sites. In addition to routine infection care, there are opportunities to be involved in a number of different areas of care delivery in the Trust, by arrangement with the clinical lead: Specific leadership of a clinical area - to be agreed after discussion with colleagues, including: Haematology Orthopaedics Burns Infection control Water safety, theatre ventilation and food safety leads Antimicrobial stewardship (alongside our AMS pharmacy team) Community IV antibiotic provision Research With evolution of the service there is a potential future opportunity to be involved with the delivery of TB and Non-tuberculous mycobacteria infection care. Opportunities also exist to develop services in HIV and infectious diseases. Initially it is expected that this role will be distributed to largely deliver medical microbiology related care(including e.g. OPAT, bone and joint infection), with opportunity to discussion going arrangements after appointment.
