This is a fixed term vacancy until 31/03/2027. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.
We are looking for a Senior Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join the Pharmacy Aseptic service at Withybush hospital. You will work with a highly skilled team that manufacture and supply cancer treatments within the Health Board. You will be involved in a broad range of activities in the Aseptic Unit including manufacturing doses of chemotherapy for our patients.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills and a commitment to ensure accuracy when performing all tasks whilst following established procedures.
We are committed to developing the role of Senior Assistant Technical Officers within the aseptic unit and will offer training opportunities for the right candidate to progress within the service.
Responsibilities:
1. To manufacture aseptic products such as chemotherapy within the aseptic unit.
2. To carry out cleaning and environmental monitoring of the aseptic unit.
3. To undertake day to day housekeeping tasks.
4. To dispense ready to administer medicinal products correctly and safely.
It is preferable that you have experience and knowledge of working in a pharmacy; however, the successful candidate will receive full training and support for further development by a team of experienced aseptic services staff.
Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above. To hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent is desirable but not essential, as full support and supervision will be provided to complete a NVQ Level 2 qualification.
The successful candidate will be involved in working on a weekend and Bank Holiday Rota.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
