*Our client offers flexible remote working. While this role can be primarily remote, occasional travel to Cardiff and/or Bristol is encouraged for key client meetings and team collaboration.
As a UI/UX Designer, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality designs, conducting UX research and providing strategic recommendations to clients. You will report directly to the Head of Experience and be part of a growing UX department with opportunities to shape the future of our client's services. Projects will range from designing new websites to enhancing existing ones and creating comprehensive UI style guides. You'll collaborate closely with both client stakeholders and internal development teams to ensure that user-focused designs balance business priorities and user needs.
While the role is primarily design-focused, we would love to find someone equally passionate about UX research – you should be excited by emerging processes and technologies that help identify user needs and pain points. You'll be responsible for providing actionable insights to clients based on research and data, while advocating for UX best practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Creating and presenting high-quality UX designs, concepts and prototypes to clients, with expertise in Figma and the latest production techniques.
2. Collaborating with client stakeholders and internal teams to deliver user-centric designs that align with business goals.
3. Assessing client needs and recommending the best-fit solutions within project budgets.
4. Writing clear user stories to support UI design components and effectively communicating design concepts to stakeholders and developers.
5. Organising and executing UX research using a range of qualitative and quantitative methods (heuristic evaluations, user interviews, competitor analysis).
6. Analysing research data to identify user needs, providing recommendations to clients for informed decision-making.
7. Advocating for UX research across the business and educating clients on its value.
8. Collaborating with sales, development, and project management teams to prioritise tasks and ensure timely delivery of UX solutions.
9. Conducting accessibility reviews and providing recommendations to ensure inclusive design.
10. Mentoring and guiding other designers within the team, ensuring high-quality outputs and fostering professional growth.
Key Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in creating well-designed, intuitive UI solutions using Figma.
2. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex UX concepts to diverse stakeholders.
3. Experience conducting unbiased UX research using various methods and delivering actionable insights.
4. Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate UX concepts and research findings to clients.
5. Critical thinking and a user-centric approach to design decisions.
6. Knowledge of accessibility best practices and how to implement them in UI design.
7. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify user needs and design effective solutions.
