I'm looking for a Communications Design Engineer to join a leading Defence company in Barrow-in-Furness.
What you'll be doing:
1. Deliver technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution and change management.
2. Understand the contractual and performance requirements for various systems, and support the definition and associated acceptance criteria and events through design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities.
3. Produce documentation required to support the design review process, including diagrams, technical specifications, supporting calculations, design evidence and justifications.
4. Undertake design reviews and presentations to customers.
5. Review relevant supplier documentation and ensure it is captured and recorded appropriately.
6. Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer.
Essential Skills:
1. Proven track record of system or equipment design in internal communications systems.
2. Demonstrable experience of working in different engineering life-cycle phases.
3. A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an engineering background.
4. Technical report writing skills and experience in requirements definition and management.
Desirable Skills:
1. Have or be working toward relevant Professional Registration (CEng).
2. Experience of system or equipment design in a range of wireless access technologies.
The salary is £45,000 to £55,000 plus an excellent benefits package and is a hybrid-working role.
You MUST be eligible for SC Clearance to be considered for this role.
