Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital is a leading provider of mental health services, offering specialist care across various disciplines. Our Eating Disorders Unit provides high-quality, evidence-based treatment for patients experiencing complex eating disorders.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our specialist Eating Disorders Unit. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding care to our patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
* Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT
* Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
* Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT
* Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Planning with patients, external stakeholders, and carers.
* Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures.
* Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries.
* To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership.
* Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings.
* Participate in a non-resident second on call out of hour's rota with a frequency of no more than 1:8
Management Responsibilities:
* Offering Clinical Leadership in collaboration with Ward Manager
* Ensuring Ward is compliant with Organisational and Regulatory requirements
* Attending ward governance meetings with ward manager
* Working with organisational quality improvement (QPIs) initiatives
* Attending Monthly governance meetings.
Academic Responsibilities:
* Attending monthly Academic meetings
* Contributing to Case presentations and teaching
* Participation in audit, research, quality improvement initiatives
Post Requirements:
* Post holder is expected to be on the specialist register with CCT/CESR
* Valid Approved Clinician status
* Full GMC registration with license to practice
* Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
* Committed to continued professional development
* Experience in treating eating disorders and complex psychiatric conditions. Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
