As an RBI Building Control Team Manager, you will be the go-to expert providing technical and management expertise to a team of Building Control Surveyors within the Building Control service. Motivating the team, handling escalations whilst overseeing the quality of service provided, you will also need to provide strategic oversight of the team's direction, reviewing policies and practices that maximize the team's output.
The service covers a diverse portfolio of structures from small domestic properties to large redevelopment plans and includes major international sports facilities. The service enforces regulations and a level of safety standards for these buildings and the safety of venues. Fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of site inspections and ensuring that plans conform to regulations. Resolving dangerous structure issues and overseeing demolitions to secure the safety of structures.
About The Role:
1. Knowledge and experience: You will need experience as a qualified Registered Building Inspector, demonstrating an excellent knowledge of building regulations and handling complex issues on site where needed.
2. Management: You will need to effectively lead and manage a team within the Building Control section of highly skilled Surveyors, motivating and overseeing the quality of work.
3. Building Compliance: You will ensure compliance with the provisions and associated regulations of the Building Act, Building Safety Act and other legislation and guidance.
4. Organisational skills: With a wide variety of projects and a diverse range of buildings to cover, you will need to be highly organised and able to advise on a wide range of issues.
5. Customer relationships: Working with a diverse client group of residents and customers you will be the point of escalation of complaints or complex issues that need resolving.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* RBI status class 2F /3
* Experience of managing a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt to a diverse range of clients
* Excellent understanding of building regulations and associated legislation.
* Commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of services provided.
