Year 1 Class Teacher – Full Time (Temporary to July 2025)

Salary: MPS 1 – 6 depending on experience (Paid Weekly via Trust Education)

Trust Education is seeking a nurturing Year 1 Class Teacher to join a primary school in the Dewsbury area. This full-time position is to cover a short-term absence and will run until the end of the academic year in July 2025.

The role:
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching to a Year 1 class, following the school’s established planning and assessment framework. You’ll be joining a supportive team of teachers and members of senior leadership, including experienced teaching assistants who are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and consistent learning experience for the children during this period of absence. The ideal teacher will:
1. Be a qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
2. Have a sound understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and phonics teaching, in particular with Read, Write, Inc.
3. Be committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
4. Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills in line with positive school values.
5. Be flexible, enthusiastic, and ready to immerse themselves in school life.
6. Be confident using a range of assessment tools to support pupil progress.
