Closing Date: 2025-03-03 Hours of Work: Please refer to full job description on SPS career site Job Purpose: Manage, monitor and report the HMP Glasgow project finances, ensuring compliance with all policies, directives and legislation as indentifed by the Scottish Prison Service and Scottish Government. The Finance Manager will be working for the HMP Glasgow Project, however the base will be HMP Barlinnie. Responsibilities: Management of the projects annual budget including budget planning, devolvement and budget projections that provide an accurate statement of the projects budget outturns.Responsible for all financial systems and processes, and their compliance to the Financial Policy and Guidance Manual and other directives, including the completion of mandatory controls such as month and year-end reconciliations and reports.Ensure that any procurement activity conducted by the project complies with all Procurement policies and procedures.Assest systemization, monitoring and reporting. Financial risk identification, monitoring and reporting.Provide a flexible and proactive financial management and reporting service commensurate with the needs of the project and the wider SPS. Essential Experience Requirements Knowledge Skills Requirements Proficient in planning and profiling annual budgets with experience in monitoring budgets and providing Senior Management with accurate financial forecasts throughout the year for pay, income, expenditure and capital funding. Demonstrating an understanding of the work of the SPS and its contribution to the wider criminal justice agenda. Essential Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and procedures that provides assurance and good governance. Proficient in the preparation of monthly and year-end financial reports. Essential Proficient in the use of a windows based financial management system including management of stock, accounts payable and receivable ledgers ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation\\\'s (e.g., VAT).
