Senior Occupational Therapist

Main Responsibilities
* Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of service users in their care. Ensure high standards of clinical care for the service users under your management and support others to do likewise.
* Undertake comprehensive assessment of service users, using investigative and analytical skills to formulate individualised rehabilitation and treatment plans.
* Promote choice in all aspects of clinical practice, reviewing and making suggestions to enhance the service users’ experience and enabling concerns and complaints to be raised freely by service users and their representatives.
* Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals and volunteers in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy.
* Ensure appropriate provision and maintenance of equipment within available resources.
* Maintain up-to-date written and electronic records in accordance with Professional and Brainkind standards, ensuring that sensitive information is held securely.
* Demonstrate clinical leadership and promote clinical supervision.
* Share knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching.
* Raise awareness of the team regarding clinical governance and clinical risk issues and implement clinical governance policies, standards, and guidelines.
* Facilitate the safe and smooth running of the Service, maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks.
About You
* Diploma/BSC in Occupational Therapy.
* Current and valid Registration with Health & Care Professions Council.
* Relevant post-graduate training in appropriate specialty.
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Experience of working in a relevant setting.
* Demonstrable experience of using evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
* Skilled knowledge and application of therapy assessments and interventions using complex level clinical reasoning.
* Ability to work autonomously and to set own and others’ priorities.
* Ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance.
* Ability to organise, coordinate and respond efficiently to complex information.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
