Description
We use innovation to shape data so it works for everyone and we're planning to re-platform and improve the existing (commercial, operational and customer) data assets and develop new ones, as well as transform how we work with the business to use our data better.
The Data & Analytics(D&A) Translator will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the D&A team and business domains. You will gather requirements to translate a business problem into a set of data requirements. But it doesn't stop there. You have the important task to drive adoption and use of D&A services and products across MO. You will help raise the level of data literacy to help employees become more data-driven and discover the value of D&A.
The role of the D&A translator is comprehensive and versatile. You will help business people understand and apply the insights delivered through D&A, but also coach self-service business technologists and data scientists in becoming more effective. Translators help more technical D&A staff to better understand business needs, including required data and how insights relate to improved decision making. You will forge collaboration among several teams, including business stakeholders, decision makers, process and decision modellers, and D&A developers and stewards.
The most important task for the D&A translator is to support the business and other stakeholders in their data-driven objectives. This requires an understanding of the business objectives, goals, and domain expertise, as well as D&A concepts, methods, and techniques. It requires strong soft skills with a focus on communication. The D&A translator can also work with C-level executives/the board of directors to support their data-driven vision, strategy and operating models.
To do this successfully, you must have a good understanding of and relationship with the business and associated D&A demand. You have a flair for working with various audiences and need to combine this with a technical understanding and domain knowledge.
