Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 nurse to join our evolving Emergency Department Team. With the introduction of ED streaming, the successful candidate will have excellent assessment and triage skills and have the ability to rapid assess and signpost patients within a busy ED waiting room to alternative pathways. This band 6 role provides a real opportunity to develop leadership skills, clinical skills and knowledge base within the Emergency Services Directorate. Main duties of the job The Emergency Department is exceptionally busy and currently has circa 153,000 annual attendees. The Urgent and Emergency Care Centre offers a one entry portal for all of our acute admissions and boasts a hybrid Emergency and Medical SDEC within its locality. We are also fortunate enough to have a specialist Children's area built to the highest specification and having its own 2 bedded high care area. We are looking for caring, compassionate and dynamic nurses to work as a Streaming nurse within the Emergency care setting. The suitable candidate will have a minimum of 2 years acute care experience, Manchester triage training and a minimum of 6 months triage experience. The individual we want would be committed to sustaining and improving our patient pathways, have good clinical skills and be able to act as a professional role model.
