Job summary Specialty Doctor: Basic £51,000 - £94,000 pro-rata (32 hours per week, 4 days Monday to Thursday) depending on experience plus 1.45 PA and 4% availability allowance for 1 in 6 on call[AF1] The post holder will use advanced clinical and communication skills to identify, assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients diagnosed with life limiting conditions with palliative and end of life care needs. They will exercise complex levels of judgement, discretion and decision-making in clinical care. They will monitor and improve standards of care through goal setting, use of advance care planning and other best practice tools and measurable outcomes. The post holder will make appropriate use of the latest evidence to supervise practice, audit clinical care, teach, support and mentor professional colleagues. The hospice will offer the post holder development opportunities in clinical and non-clinical experience. About us St Catherines Hospice is delighted to be able to offer this exciting opportunity to join the hospices medical team as a Specialty doctor or Clinical Fellow (experience dependant). This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the hospice, which has expanded its well-regarded and highly-respected community Clinical Nurse Specialist team as well as launching a hospice at home pilot. This new post holder will work flexibly across clinical services and although primarily based on the inpatient unit, will have opportunities to develop community palliative medicine experience.
