This role really has the potential for you to develop an award-winning bar concepts and experiential beverage experiences. From overseeing the beverage experience of the food & beverage outlets, to the running of pop-up events, you will be creating services and products to challenge the status quo and become a landmark in Cambridge hospitality. You will lead and train the bartenders team of the hotel to bring your creations to life to the highest of standards, as an approachable, active, hands-on and engaging leader that optimizes on KPIs and strives for continuous improvement. You will craft incredible recipes and bar concepts and set innovative trends in the bar scene of Cambridge. The Role As Head of Mixology, you will be in charge of leading the F&B bar teams to create memorable experiences for guests. You will be responsible of the beverage experience of the hotel, particularly – but not limited to – in the Folio Bar & Kitchen, The Sage of Cambridge. You will craft incredible beverage recipes and experiences and be co-responsible of the hotels’ bartenders’ recruitment, training and development. Key responsibilities Develop and coordinate of the beverage experience throughout all the Food & Beverage Outlets Develop services which are innovative and set a trend in the Cambridge’s bar scene Craft original beverage menu items and designing new, innovative cocktails using natural ingredients Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the bars through effective checklists and monitoring of spaces Evaluate guest satisfaction levels, monitor trends and react promptly to improve performance of the bars experience Build strong relations with guests to ensure loyalty to the venues; entertain guests while mixing drinks, talking to customers about spirits and offering trivia and history about various alcohols to keep customers engaged and enjoying themselves. Communicate effectively with beverage-related suppliers to ensure adequate stock levels and partnerships for pop-up events Ensure correct purchasing and delivery of beverage-related goods. Maintain stock levels of alcoholic and other beverages and controlling the beverage costs through appropriate recipes making, pricing strategy, spillage and spoilage control, pouring standards and correct training of staff. Ensure preservation of glassware, barware and cocktailware and sensitive handling of equipment Develop potential Cocktail masterclasses Adhere to the UK’s alcohol law, as well as health and safety standards Work behind the bar and on the floor along with the bartending team to deliver the best cocktails and drinks as well as an entertaining bar experience to our guests Monitor both the productivity and qualitative work produce of the bartenders. Be responsible of bartenders training plan, skills development and continuous improvement. Ensure all team members have an up-to-date knowledge of all the beverage menus and service standards. Develop and implement cost saving and profit enhancing measures within own area. Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel and manage bartenders for the efficient operation of the outlets. Organise efficient communication with bartending team as well as other restaurants’ staff. Develop potential Cocktail masterclasses Ensure competent and efficient delivery of Hilton Honors loyalty programme and ensure full compliance. Ensure all oral and written communications are kept at a high standard Be an active part of the F&B Management Team and help other areas of F&B when needed.
