About the area The Risk, Integrity, Safety, and Compliance (RISC) division is dedicated to embedding a strong risk management culture across the University. It leads the strategic implementation of enterprise risk management, health and safety, compliance, and insurance, supporting UWA's vision of excellence. Within RISC, the Strategic Assurance team plays a critical role in delivering structured risk management, internal audit, and insurance initiatives. About the opportunity As the Risk and Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the implementation and operation of UWA’s risk management and compliance frameworks. You will: Assist in the identification, assessment, and management of risks across the University. Provide administrative and analytical support to ensure the effectiveness of risk controls and compliance processes. Contribute to risk awareness initiatives, including developing resources, delivering training, and providing advisory support. Work closely with teams across the University to ensure risk management practices are embedded in day-to-day operations. About you To excel in this role, you will bring: Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in operational risk and compliance. Experience in preparing policy, procedures, and training materials. Strong organisational and analytical skills, with experience supporting risk management processes. Highly developed written and verbal communication and liaison skills Ability to influence and build strong relationships with stakeholders across various levels Proficiency in using spreadsheets, databases, and software tools to support risk management activities.
