The role involves overseeing all engineering aspects of vehicle platforms (single deck, double deck, LHD, etc.), coordinating the engineering release schedule, managing the multidisciplinary design phase, and swiftly resolving engineering issues to meet necessary standards. The Role: ? Report to Head of Vehicle Systems. ? Work within a cross-functional team for vehicle development, integrating components and systems into the overall design. ? Control the engineering release schedule and assist in timely delivery of work packages. ? Specify, select, and integrate components and systems into vehicle designs. ? Provide technical leadership to junior engineers. ? Analyze options and recommend optimal solutions. ? Develop and design products per customer specifications. ? Investigate new materials and technology. ? Create and issue Creo models, assemblies, and engineering detail drawings. ? Collaborate with suppliers and partners for integration. ? Coordinate with assembly and manufacturing teams. ? Manage verification and validation plans. ? Support NPD Strategy for EV, FCEV, and HEV vehicles. ? Provide technical information and documentation. ? Document and provide FMEA analysis. ? Support production, engineers, and customers with technical assistance. ? Produce system layout drawings, Bills of Material, specifications, and detailed designs. ? Support prototype build, validation, and product sign-off. The requirements One From: HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with demonstrable 6 years applicable industry experience Honours degree in suitable engineering discipline with 5 years applicable industry experience Honours degree & Chartership status with 4 years applicable industry experience ? Whole product CAD experience. ? Design concept through to manufacturing experience. ? Experience managing and controlling engineering bill of material release schedules. ? Experience in New Product Development within an engineering environment. ? Knowledge of BOM structure. ? Knowledge of manufacturing processes. ? 3 years in an engineering environment, per education criteria. ? Problem-solving abilities. ? Excellent communication skills. ? Computer literacy. ? Experience with 3D & 2D CAD. ? Engineering report writing. ? Bus design experience. ? Automotive system design experience.
