Days & Hours:
Weekend Support Worker:Saturday between the hours of 8am-10pm, atypical shift would equate to approximately 6-8 hours in length. Monday, 7am-10:30am for the school run. These hours can be covered by more than one person.
School Holiday Support Worker. Weekdays in school holidays from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday but hours can vary depending on activities.Hours can be covered by more than one person.
Pay:£14.00 per hour, Weekdays, Days and £15.00 per hour, Weekends, Days. National Living Wage/National Minimum Wage per hour for Sleeping Nights when required.
Driver required?Essential (will need own car to get to work).
Driving Clients Car?Yes, our client's Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV), automatic.You must be confident to drive the client's accessible vehicle to apply for this role.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes?Essential to get to work, due to no public transport.
Essential Experience:Complex manual handling, supporting a young person with physical disabilities. Good sense of humour.
Desirable:Experience working with young people with expressive speech difficulties. Experience working with a variety of equipment.
Pets:The family have a large dog who is very friendly.
Accommodation (while on duty):Fully adapted family home, there is a separate Support Worker's annexe if overnight stays are required.

We are seeking 2 or 3 Support workers to support a lovely family who live near Marwell Zoo, between Winchester and Eastleigh.
Lara is outgoing and bubbly and would like to get involved in a myriad of activities and experiences with her Support Workers. She is interested in Blogging, Vlogging and putting together videos. Lara enjoys general hair and beauty activities, going out and about, meeting and making friends and going out for meals. She would also like to do more baking and cooking in her newly adapted kitchen and is keen on Arts and Crafts.Lara has Cerebral Palsy and is wheelchair dependent in a manual chair so you will require experience for manual handling purposes. She is hoisted for transfers using a CTH (ceiling track hoist). Lara uses an eye gaze very efficiently to communicate and is able to access her environment using the eye gaze.The role will require fun loving but responsible people to work closely with our client Lara and family to enable her to have the best life experiences at the weekend and in the holidays when she is home from school where she boards during the week in term time.
