The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working within an adult acute or urgent care division, and possess knowledge and a range of skills that cover all aspects of Acute Medicine. They will need to show a willingness to learn and develop. They will need to be self-motivated with a desire to improve patient care through application of safe and effective nursing practice; planning, delivering and evaluating care in line with organisational procedures and the NMC code of conduct.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Clinical observations, venepuncture and cannulation, ECG recording.
2. Direct patient care, medication administration, use of IT equipment for referrals to specialities, documentation of patient care delivered.
3. Completion of mandatory/compulsory training as required.
4. Recognition and escalation of unwell patients appropriately.
5. Work alongside other members of the MDT to deliver patient care.
6. Working in multiple specialities including medicine, surgery, ENT, orthopaedics.
The opportunity to work on a fast-paced and developing unit to provide patient care and, if possible, avoid admission to hospital whilst providing relevant treatment to patients. Access to a wide range of MDT members including but not limited to Medical and Surgical ACP's, Doctors, Consultants, Physio/OT and many more. The opportunity to attend relevant training to develop yourself.
The unit is undergoing changes in line with the Trust's vision for Urgent Care, the opportunity to be involved in these and help develop and drive the changes and improve the unit and the care delivered.
