Job Title: SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant Location: Chesterfield (SK23) Pay Rate: £100 per day GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant to support secondary schools in Chesterfield. Job Responsibilities: • Provide one-on-one and small group support to secondary students with SEMH needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development. • Assist in the implementation of individual education and behavior support plans to meet the unique needs of each student. • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and support emotional resilience. • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of SEMH students. • Promote a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ well-being. • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to monitor student progress and ensure effective support. Requirements: • Previous experience working with SEMH students or in a similar role within education. • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies tailored to SEMH students. • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one. • Patience, empathy, and a dedication to helping SEMH learners achieve their potential. • Driving License and Business Insurance: A valid driving license and business insurance are required, as some travel may be needed for outreach and support activities.
