Job Description:
As a Junior Site Manager / QA Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of construction projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety on site. Working closely with senior management and site teams, you will assist in managing day-to-day site operations and be responsible for maintaining quality assurance protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management: Assist in managing the construction site on a daily basis, ensuring that the project is progressing as per schedule, budget, and safety standards.
Quality Assurance: Oversee and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, design requirements, and regulatory standards.
Health and Safety: Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting site inductions, and addressing potential hazards promptly.
Subcontractor Coordination: Support the management of subcontractors, ensuring that they adhere to quality standards, project timelines, and site rules.
Quality Control Inspections: Conduct regular quality inspections, identifying any issues and ensuring corrective actions are implemented as necessary.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspections, progress reports, and quality control checks. Prepare and submit reports to senior managers, highlighting key issues, progress, and quality metrics.
Client Liaison: Maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, ensuring that their requirements and expectations are met.
Problem-Solving: Identify issues on site early and work collaboratively with the team to resolve them efficiently.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in quality management and construction processes.
Skills & Experience:
A degree or equivalent qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
Experience in a construction or site management role, ideally within the UK construction industry.
Understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and quality control standards.
Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors, clients, and senior management.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
CSCS card (essential)
SMSTS or SSSTS certification (desirable)
First Aid at Work certification (desirable)
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) (desirable)
