Job summary
We are a major acute teaching Trust with two APUs offering a wide range of clinical specialties, including tertiary referrals for HIV and Renal Medicine. Pharmacy services are well developed and deliver high quality Medicines Management.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual with experience in aseptic services. You will work closely with our Operational Managers (manufacturing services) to help steer the team at the production unit. You will support & facilitate the production activity of the aseptic units.
Your input will be vital in development of our service and ensuring that quality is at the centre of everything we do for our patients across the NHS and private healthcare settings.
You must have NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services or Science ManufacturingTechnician or equivalent (or working towards these) and be a member of the GPhC, Science Council or equivalent.
Main duties of the job
1. Plan, organise and prioritise work activities within the Aseptic Unit clean rooms alongside and supporting the Pharmacy Technicians.
2. Ensure all processes and procedures are followed by staff operating in the Aseptic Unit.
3. Responsible for the safe use of equipment within clean rooms, ensuring clean room staff use equipment in accordance with instructions and SOPs
4. Ensures that all required functional tests, inspections and verifications are carried out on cleanroom equipment before and after work sessions.
5. Reports equipment faults and deviations appropriately and ensure records are completed.

To organise the workload in the areas for which responsibility has been delegated and to deploy the available staff in the most effective to and ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are read/understood and observed by all staff at all demonstrate a team approach by adapting to and working confidently and competently in each area within Aseptic Services, as required by the Aseptic Services Pharmacist and the needs of the maintain and update documents relating to equipment, facilities and training and to report deviations from specified operating conditions, as required by the Aseptic Services liaise with customers, quality control personnel and carriers to ensure the prompt dispatch and delivery of all aseptic products, ensuring all handling and storage conditions are met and collate and provide to Senior Technician - Aseptic Services end of month workload statistics for areas where responsibility has been delegated.
