The Role As an IT Support Technician, you will provide technical support services to busy Schools and businesses, including support for software and hardware including desktops, laptops, tablets, projectors/TVS, interactive technologies printers, servers, basic networking, and telephones. The role is very hands-on with exceptional troubleshooting and customer service management skills required. You will be expected to be a friendly approachable point of contact on-site while working with the Novus Support Services Team to deliver the customer's IT Services. You will report regularly to your Service Delivery Manager and work closely with our fully staffed offsite IT service desk to help you deal with more complex issues. Experience working in the challenging environment of IT in schools would be valuable, with high levels of customer service, technical understanding, and an ability to adapt and positively deal with high-pressure situations when they occur. Please note - this role will be based on site in a school What you will be doing? Provide onsite 1 st and 2 nd line technical support Update, close & create tickets within our ticket system Support school software Support school hardware including desktops, laptops, tablets, projectors/TVS, interactive technologies printers, servers, basic networking, and telephones. Troubleshooting issues and resolving them Liaise and work with 3 rd party providers on issues outside of directly supported systems Proactively maintain and support systems and hardware Maintain, update and create documentation such as asset registers Deliver high levels of customer service, providing a friendly and approachable point of contact on-site Have the ability to adapt and positively deal with high-pressure situations when they occur. Work closely with our fully staffed offsite IT service desk to help you deal with more complex issues. Perform hardware repairs when needed Create and update processes and procedures Ensure a clean and organised working environment The above list is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post. What is needed? Full Clean Driving License GCSE in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent) Can gain a successful clear enhanced DBS Desired School experience IT Support experience 1st and 2nd line Knowledge of Microsoft Servers and core components. Basic Networking knowledge Understanding of DHCP, DNS PC diagnostic Skills Windows Server and Desktop operating systems. Knowledge of Active Directory, AAD, Office 365, Teams, Google Classroom Understanding Firewall and Filtering Understanding of Desktop Deployment systems (Intune, MDT, SCCM) High levels of communication & customer service Written and Verbal communication skills are critical.
